Son of the Inklings
Hello. It is my great pleasure to meet you. I am the Quill, the self-styled “Son of the Inklings.” That is not my real name of course, but I prefer an element of mystery. Why? Simply this: Why not a pseudonym? Who a person is can often be shown by his or her name. I have loved writing for some time, and is not a quill our best and most classic symbol of the written word? Beyond my taken name, some details I would like known: first, that I am a Christian. As for confession, I am Eastern Orthodox. Above all else I wish to serve Our Lord with what I do.
Secondly, I draw much of my inspiration from great literary figures such as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton and the like. It is after the former two and their friends that I name myself. They formed a literary society known as the Inklings, whose aim was to reinvigorate the Christian faith through heroic myths and imaginative tales. Their works dramatically grew my own faith, and with this blog I hope to impart the joy of the Gospel I received from them, from other authors, and the men and women who have guided me.
